Cheney Energy Partners is an upstream oil and gas company with projects in the Permian Basin of New Mexico and West Texas, and the Gulf of Mexico. Collaborating with industry partners, our focus is to capitalize Permian Basin prospects and resource plays from the initial concept to production.

We have developed, funded and drilled over 100 oil and gas prospects and opportunities. The experience of our partners and innovative approach to exploration, combined with a special emphasis on the Permian Basin has helped us build a solid record of success.
Mitch Cheney founded Cheney Energy Partners in 2002. Mr. Cheney graduated from the University of Michigan in 1980 and went on to work for Exxon as a Petroleum Geologist until 1987, at which point he became an independent, focusing mainly on the Permian Basin.
